Franconia police investigate shooting on Harbor Court Drive

A gunshot victim appeared at a hospital in Prince William County. The victim died from his injuries in the hospital.

FAIRFAX, Va. — In a chilling incident that occurred around 2 p.m. today, officers were called to the Franconia area for reports of a shooting. 

It happened along the 5300 block of Harbor Court Drive. Despite the prompt arrival of law enforcement, at the scene. Leaving a mystery lingering in the air. 

An eyewitness told police they saw the shooter fleeing on foot. The witness told officers the shooter was a slim man, about 5-foot-10, and wearing a gray hoodie. 

As the day progressed, more tragedy unfolded when a gunshot victim appeared at a hospital in Prince William County. Surveillance video from the hospital showed a black Dodge Charger arriving at the hospital with the victim. Detectives connected the dots and linked the Prince William County victim to the earlier shooting that took place on Harbor Court Drive.

The victim, identified as 23-year-old Bryant Anthony Gillis, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Preliminary investigations indicate that this might not be a random act, raising questions about the motive behind the violence. 

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting for the suspect to come forward.
