Police: Man opens fire on NW DC home, leaving one person injured

A victim told officers that she was standing outside the home when a man drove up in a grey sedan, possibly a Toyota, and began shooting.

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for a man last seen wearing a ski mask headed down Q Street, Northwest after he allegedly opened fire on a home and injured a man Saturday morning.

Just before 10 a.m., the shooting on Q Street, Northwest was reported to the Metropolitan Police Department. A victim told police that a man was outside the home when he began shooting.

He shot one victim outside of the home who was later identified as Nolan Dewayne Jones. His current condition remains unknown. 

Police say no one else was injured as a result of the shooting. Property damage was reported as a result of the shooting including a busted front window and bullet holes through a fridge, drywall, and car in the driveway. 

A victim told officers that she was standing outside the home when the man drove up in a grey sedan, possibly a Toyota, and began shooting. She says he then fled eastbound on Q Street, NW. 

Anyone who has more information on the whereabouts of this man is asked to take no action but call 911 immediately.
