3 indicted in deadly Sheetz parking lot shooting

All three individuals were already in prison on unrelated matters at the time of their indictment.

GREAT MILLS, Md. — Three indictments have been served in the murder of Marcus Anthony Day, who was shot and killed in a Sheetz parking lot in Maryland back in April.

According to a release from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, 19-year-old James Jerome Adams, Jr., a 15-year-old from Lexington Park and an adult, who at the time of the shooting was a juvenile from Bushwood, were indicted on Monday for their involvement in the murder of Day.

All three individuals were already in prison on unrelated matters at the time of their indictment.

On April 4, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Great Mills Sheetz in Maryland just before 10:40 p.m. after receiving a call about shots fired in the parking lot.

Shortly after that, deputies also went to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown after a report of a victim who arrived with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 26-year-old Day, was pronounced dead. Detectives connected Day to the shooting in the parking lot of the Maryland Sheetz.

On May 5, officers arrested a 15-year-old from Lexington Park for his alleged involvement in the murder of Day in Great Mills on April 4. The teenager was located and arrested in King George County, Virginia and will be charged as an adult.
