Shooting in Prince George's County leaves 1 dead

Police are still investigating what led to the shooting

RIVERDALE, Md. — Police are trying to figure out who shot and killed a man in Prince George's County Monday morning. 

Officers responded to the report of a shooting at around 8:30 a.m. Once on the scene in the 1700 block of Kennilworth Avenue, near Riverdale Community Park, police found a man shot several times. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead. 

Investigators are still working to learn what led up to the deadly shooting. So far, no arrests have been made. Police have not released any information about a possible suspect or suspects in this case. 

Detectives later identified the man killed as 57-year-old Donald Head of no fixed address. Preliminarily, police do not believe the shooting was random.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
