WASHINGTON — As we wrap up the holiday season, Metro’s New Year's Eve and New Year’s Day schedule has been published.
On New Year's Eve, a night when people are out ringing in the new year, Metrorail will stay open until 2 a.m., giving people an extra two hours to get home safely. In addition, Metro is reminding customers that they can also take advantage of Metro's 24-hour bus service in D.C. to get home
Here are the hours for the rail service for the holidays:
While Metro is extending services at most stations, some stations along the Red Line will be closed due to construction.
From Dec. 25 to 30, Farragut North and Metro Center will have no Red Line service. Trains run every 8-10 minutes between Shady Grove and Dupont Circle and every 10-12 minutes between Gallery Place and Glenmont.
The Green and Yellow lines will still serve Gallery Place and the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines will still serve Metro Center. However, Metro Center’s 11th and G and 13th and G streets entrances will be closed until Dec. 30.
Parking is free at all Metro-owned parking garages and lots on holidays.
