GREATER LANDOVER, Md. — As the deadline to finalize their 53-man roster approaches, the Commanders have been undergoing some changes. Head Coach Dan Quinn will have to cut the team down from the 90 people he currently has. He has until Aug. 27, two days after the team's final pre-season game against the New England Patriots.
Here is a timeline of all the changes made since the 2024 draft:

- Aug. 22: Wide receiver Jahan Dotson was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles
- Aug. 22: Kicker Riley Patterson was released
- Aug. 20: Safety Kendell Brooks and linebacker Chapelle Russel signed; released linebacker Keandre Jones and safety Ben Nikkel
- Aug. 19: Signed defensive end Justin Hollins; released linebacker Bo Bauer
- Aug. 15: Quarterback Trace McSorley was signed
- Aug. 13: Wide receiver Martavis Bryant was signed; released kicker Ramiz Ahmed
- Aug. 7: Tackle Alex Taylor signed
- Aug. 6: Signed center J.C. Hassenauer; released tight end Armani Rogers
- Aug. 4: Signed DT Taylor Stallworth. Released CB Christian Holmes
- July 31: Wide receiver Byron Pringle was re-signed; claimed kicker Riley Patterson off waivers; released wide receivers Dax Milne and Damiere Byrd
- June 6: Signed kicker Ramiz Ahmed
- June 2: Kicker Brandon McManus was released
- May 14: Released quarterback Jake Fromm
- May 7: Released linebacker Brandon Bouyer-Randle, cornerback D'Angelo Mandell and defensive end Joshua Pryor
