FAIRFAX, Va. — Multiple people are injured and several lanes of Interstate 66 are blocked after a five-car crash in Fairfax County Monday evening.
According to information posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, the crash happened on I-66 westbound just before Route 28. When units arrived, they found five cars were involved in the crash.
Four people were taken to area hospitals for help and are expected to survive. No information regarding the ages of those injured has been released.
While crews work the crash, three left lanes of I-66, including the express entrance, are blocked off. There is no word on how long that closure may last at this time.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue has not said what caused the crash.
