MANASSAS, Va. — While police were attempting to find a woman who drove away after a crash in Manassas, officers found her four young children home alone.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers went to a home in the 10200 block of Balls Ford Road just after 8 p.m. while looking for the owner of a car that was involved in a crash near Prince William Parkway and W. Longview Drive.

When officers arrived, they found four children, between the ages of 2 and 9, alone inside the home.

Investigators claim the children's mother is the owner of the car used in the alleged hit-and-run crash. She reportedly left the children alone sometime Saturday. When officers found the kids Sunday,  they were not harmed and all four were turned over to a family member.

Leslie Carolina Milla was later found and taken into custody after she turned herself in to police on Nov. 13. She is charged with four counts of child neglect.
