Police investigate 3-vehicle crash in Montgomery County

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

GERMANTOWN, Md. — Police in Montgomery County are trying to determine the cause of a crash involving two cars and a tractor trailer during Monday's morning commute. Emergency crews were called to the crash scene before 8 a.m.

According to Pete Piringer, a spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, the three-vehicle crash was reported near the intersection of Richter Farm Road and Great Seneca Highway in Germantown.

Sky9 was over the crash scene. Cameras showed a black sedan had crashed into the back of the trailer and gotten wedged underneath the trailer. A silver car appears to have crashed into the black sedan, and the sedan's back wheels were seen on the windshield of the other car.

Piringer said one driver was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Some lanes in the area of the crash scene were blocked for the crash investigation. They are expected to reopen soon.
