2 injured after overturned U-Haul veers off road on northbound 295

Both the driver and passenger were transported to University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — An early Thursday morning crash left two people hospitalized and closed a lane of traffic on Interstate 295 northbound at Interstate 195. 

According to Maryland State Police, shortly before 7 a.m., a U-Haul truck traveling northbound on I-295 veered off the roadway for “unknown reasons.” The vehicle went into the embankment, then overturned in the creek. 

Both the driver and passenger were transported to the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center for their injuries. 

The state’s Department of the Environment also responded to the crash scene to address a potential fuel leak. 

MSP said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
