One dead after shooting in NW DC

Police responded to 'gunshot sounds' on N street, and found the victim unresponsive.

WASHINGTON — Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting in Northwest DC. 

Authorities affirmed the incident took place on July 16, around 10:32 p.m., when officers responded to 'gunshot sounds' in the 300 block of N Street, NW. 

On the scene, police found a man 'unconscious and not breathing' and with gunshot wounds. Subsequently, police stated the man was pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigations revealed the deceased was 37-year-old Trent Davis, of Northwest, D.C.

Police are receiving relevant information and currently offer a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
