WASHINGTON — The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting outside a grocery store in Northwest, D.C. that left one man with serious injuries.
Officers were called to the 100 block of Kennedy St. NW. at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of a shooting, outside a Sonnie's grocery store. At the scene, officers found a man who has been shot in the back.
Police said he was unconscious and barely breathing before being taken to an area hospital. His current condition remains unknown.
So far, homicide detectives have not been called to the scene.
