Police search for person of interest in connection to a deadly shooting near Nats Park

Police have identified the shooting victims as 35-year-old Patricia Harris and 24-year-old Tyrone Jacobs, both of Southwest, D.C.

WASHINGTON — Surveillance photos and videos of a person of interest in a shooting in Southwest, D.C. that left a man and woman dead have been released in hopes of getting the public's help identifying them.

On Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, at 11:49 a.m., officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of Half Street, Southwest. 

At the scene, officers located three men and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman died at the scene and one man died later at an area hospital. The other two shooting victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at an area hospital and then released.

Police have identified the victims who were killed as 35-year-old Patricia Harris and 24-year-old Tyrone Jacobs, both of Southwest, D.C.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 per victim, bringing the reward up to $50,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this offense. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s text tip line by sending a text message to 50411.
