Police search for man who abducted a woman and exposed himself during the car ride

The victim told police she tried to get out of the car several times.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man accused of picking up a woman in his car early Sunday morning in Woodbridge and refusing to let her leave.

Detectives say the suspect exposed himself and tried to touch the victim inappropriately during the car ride that occurred in the area of Forestdale Avenue and Fullerton Road around 1:30 a.m.

At 2:57 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, officers responded to investigate the attempted assault that was reported to have happened earlier that evening.

An investigation revealed a 29-year-old woman was walking in the area when the driver of a white sedan pulled up and offered her a ride. The victim voluntarily got in the car with the man, and he then refused to let her leave despite her numerous attempts.

While driving around, investigators say the suspect exposed himself and made inappropriate gestures before grabbing the victim. Later that morning, the suspect drove the victim to her home where she encountered police.

A composite sketch of the man has been released as well as surveillance photos of his car.

Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to contact the Prince William County Police Department at 703-792-7000 or submit a webtip to: pwcgov.org/policetip. Tips may be submitted anonymously.
