SILVER SPRING, Md. — Police have arrested and charged a man for allegedly driving the getaway car after a deadly shooting in Silver Spring in November of last year.
Jose Ramon Ventura, 24, is charged with accessory after the fact for driving and taking the two people police say were responsible for the shooting death of 20-year-old Orlando Alexander Satz, Jr.
Investigators say Satz Jr. died on Nov. 28, 2023, after crashing his car into a parked car on Spruell Drive. Neighbors who heard the crash helped get Satz Jr. out of the car and this is when they noticed he had been shot.
Police then responded and opened an investigation.
Detectives say they identified Ventura as the driver of a black Honda Civic that the two suspects got into after the shooting and drove away.
On Tuesday, detectives got a warrant for Ventura’s arrest, charging him with accessory after the fact. Ventura was taken into custody on Thursday. He is being held without bond in Montgomery County.
