Shooting leaves man dead in Suitland

Detectives do not believe this is a random crime.

SUITLAND, Md. — A shooting in Suitland has left a man dead Tuesday night, and now police are searching for the person responsible for pulling the trigger.

Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to Regency Park Court, off of Suitland Road, around 9:40 p.m. after a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a man, identified as 24-year-old Sean Bethea, of D.C., who had been shot.

Bethea was pronounced dead at the location. 

Detectives say they do not believe this was a random crime. They are currently working to determine a motive and identify a person of interest in the deadly crime.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Anyone with information on this case who would like to speak to a Homicide Unit detective may call 301-516-2512.
