Police identify suspect in shooting at Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro Station

There is a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest.

D.C., DC — The Metro Transit Police Department has identified a suspect in connection to a shooting at the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro Station. 

Jaleel Fowler, 25, of Northwest DC, is wanted for assault with a dangerous weapon. Police consider him armed and dangerous. 

Just after 2:45 p.m. on Dec. 8, Metro Transit Police responded to the station for a report of a shooting.

First responders located a teen boy inside the station in the unpaid mezzanine area with a gunshot wound, police said.

The boy was taken to an area hospital, and his injuries aren't believed to be life-threatening.

The victim was followed into the station by Fowler just before the shooting occurred, according to police. Police said on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the incident was an apparent robbery attempt.
