WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating a shooting of a girl in a Southeast neighborhood Wednesday morning. Initially, police have not said how old the girl is, only that she is under the age of 18.
Officers were called to the 1400 block of Bangor Road Southeast for the report of a shooting just after 10 a.m. That's Near Thurgood Marshall Academy.
When they arrived, they found a girl had been shot. A spokesperson said the girl was conscious and breathing when she was taken to the hospital, but the severity of her injuries is not yet known.
Investigators remain on scene gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. Police have not yet offered any information about a suspect in this case. So far, no arrests have been made. Police are still working to learn exactly what led to the shooting.
