Four 7-Eleven stores in the DC area robbed with a fire extinguisher over the course of a week

New Carrollton Police confirmed reports of a man robbing a 7-Eleven with a fire extinguisher Sunday morning.

WASHINGTON — DC Police are still searching for a man they said robbed three 7-Eleven stores across the District in four days this past week. In each of those robberies, the suspect allegedly used a fire extinguisher.

Police also confirmed reports that a 7-Eleven on Annapolis Road in New Carrollton was robbed with a fire extinguisher early Sunday morning.

New Carrollton Police wouldn’t say what, or if anything, was taken from the store or if it was connected to the string of similar robberies reported in D.C.

“Normally there’s activity here. There’s normally some unsavory activity going on here on a regular basis," said a frequent customer of the 7-Eleven in New Carrollton who didn't want to use his name. "Most folks that come over here, they’re aware of it so they watch their surroundings.”

In D.C., Metro Police said a man robbed a 7-Eleven store on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday this past week.

Police released security footage of the suspect carrying a fire extinguisher. Then, walking out with part of the cash register.

Monday morning, at a 7-Eleven on Hawaii Avenue, Northeast, a police report shows the suspect stole more than $2,000 worth of tobacco products, lighters and vape cartridges, as well as $650 in cash and the cash register. Police said the fire extinguisher was in the bag he carried inside the store, and he allegedly used it on the cashier.

Thursday morning, police said the same suspect stole $600 in cash from a 7-Eleven on Columbia Road, Northwest, again spraying the fire extinguisher at the cashier.

Police haven’t tied the suspect in the D.C. robberies to the suspect in the Maryland 7-Eleven robbery on Sunday.
