WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help locating a person accused of an armed robbery that happened in Northeast D.C. Tuesday morning.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the victim was standing on 52nd Street Northeast, nearby Hayes Street Northeast, just before 10:30 a.m. when he was approached by a person who pointed a gun at him and demanded money. The victim then complied, giving the person money and then the alleged robber left the area, police said.
The accused robber was captured on surveillance cameras. Police released photos and video on Wednesday in hopes that the public can help in identifying the person responsible for the crime.
Anyone who can identify this suspect or has any information about this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
