MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — After 533 days in a local shelter, this pup’s adoption is getting us uplifted.
Rihanna was the Montgomery County Animal Shelter’s longest resident. As the shelter looked for her forever home, she also became its social media star. They posted videos showing off her skills and training, and even threw her a party after she had been there for a year.
Almost a year and a half later, the social media push to find her family finally paid off. The shelter took to Facebook to congratulate the pup and thank her new family and everyone at the adoption center who advocated for her happy ending.
"It may have taken a lot longer than we all hoped, but we think Rihanna would agree that her new family was more than worth the wait," the shelter said.
