UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — A 24-year-old man is dead after a crash involving two motorcycles and a cow in Prince George's County over the weekend. Police are still investigating exactly what happened.

The crash happened just after midnight on Sunday morning. Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to the 3400 block of Ritchie Marlboro Road for a report of a crash. Once on scene, officers found Justin Crosby from Catonsville on the side of the road suffering from critical injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

A second rider was also found in the road. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to police.

Investigators believe Crosby and the other rider were heading northbound on Ritchie Marlboro Road when the second rider collided with the cow that had wandered into the road. Crosby swerved and avoided hitting the cow, but lost control of his motorcycle. Crosby struck a guardrail and was thrown from his motorcycle.

The cow was also killed in the collision, police said.
