MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Some lanes were blocked Friday morning on Interstate 270 after a truck overturned on the roadway, according to Montgomery County Public Information Officer Pete Piringer. At least two injuries occurred.
The crash happened on southbound I-270 between Muddy Branch Road and Interstate 370, Piringer said.
Two people were trapped in the overturned tree-trimming truck and have been rescued by Montgomery County Fire Department crews, Piringer said. The two people were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident caused some lane closures along the roadway, with police and crews assessing damage on scene following the crash.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
