Motorcyclist dead in Prince George's County crash

Police are still investigating what led up to the crash.

HYATTSVILLE, Md. — Police are searching for answers after a 69-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash Thursday evening.

Officers were called to Landover Road near Route 50 for the report of a collision involving a motorcycle around 7:15 p.m. Police say the motorcycle rider, identified as 69-year-old Roger Ferguson of Upper Marlboro, was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries. 

Initially, police believe Ferguson collided with another driver in the southbound lanes of Landover Road. The driver was not hurt. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. 

Investigators are asking anyone who may have information about the collision to contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422.
