GLENN DALE, Md. — Police are still trying to figure out what led to a crash in Prince George's County that sent eight people to the hospital Wednesday morning. Two people involved have critical, life-threatening injuries, according to crash investigators.
Authorities first responded to the crash in the 11100 block of Good Hope Road in Glenn Dale just after 10:30 a.m. Prince George's County firefighters found a car had slammed into a tree.
Fire department spokesperson Michael Yourishin said, in total, eight people were taken to area hospitals following the crash. One person was airlifted by Maryland State Police helicopter for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Another person with life-threatening injuries was taken to a hospital by ambulance.
Four others were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, however those injuries were not considered life-threatening. Two other people were taken to the hospital for evaluation, Yourishin said.
The circumstances leading up the crash are still under investigation. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
