ASHBURN, Va. — The Washington Commanders saw a spirited defense, causing some issues for the offense during day three of training camp.
All of the quarterbacks appeared to struggle at times Friday but all eyes were on Jayden Daniels with the consensus being he'll be the starting QB. After all, you don't get picked number two in the draft and not start. However, head coach Dan Quinn has not officially named a starter yet.
While watching the third day of training camp, I did see if Daniels decides to tuck the ball and run, the defense is going to have issues keeping up with him. He looked quick and he wasn't the only one with backup QB Marcus Mariota having some wheels too! He got outside and down the sideline once, surprising a few.
During practice, I heard safety Jeremy Reaces had the chance to break up a pass and blow up a teammate. However, he avoided the collision, saying "I made a business decision."
Additionally, kicker Ahmed Ramiz made some long field goals during special team drills, hitting from 50 yards a few times.
The fellas have a day off Saturday, where they will rest but keep up with the film work. On Sunday, it is back to work while fans make their first appearance in Ashburn. Head coach Quinn says he is looking forward to seeing the fans because football is about performing.
