WASHINGTON — Howard University’s Football team is the new Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Champion. This is the first time in 30-years Howard has won the conference championships outright. In 2022 they shared the title with North Carolina Central.

Head Coach Larry Scott, is ending his third season on a high. WUSA9 Sports Anchor Desmond Purnell, spoke with Scott after the game and asked him how he felt having accomplished so much within three seasons.

“That was the goal…I didn’t choose Howard because of what it had been in football. I chose the brand, I chose this place, I chose the history.”

This will be the first time in school history that Howard will compete in the Cricket Celebration Bowl. The Bowl began in 2016, its purpose is to continue to celebrate the heritage, legacy, pageantry, and tradition of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

The Cricket Celebration Bowl is scheduled for December 16 in Atlanta, Georgia and will air on ABC.
