MANASSAS, Va. — Police are asking for the public's help finding a man wanted in connection to a DUI hit-and-run crash in Manassas.

Miguel Angel Urquilla Cordova, 23, was released from an area hospital before being charged for his alleged involvement in the crash.

On March 12, at 7:55 p.m., officers responded to the area of Coverstone Drive and Aaron Lane in Manassas to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.

Police learned that the driver of a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder, later identified as Urquilla Cordova, was turning left from Coverstone Lane onto Aaron Lane when the car struck an 82-year-old man attempting to cross the road. The pedestrian was rushed to an area hospital for help with serious injuries after the crash.

Investigators say Urquilla Cordova fled from the initial scene before striking a 2013 Toyota Camry in the area of Sudley Manor Drive and Williamson Boulevard. He then ran away before being located a short distance away and detained without incident.

Police say Urquilla Cordova and two occupants in the Camry were taken to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

On March 18, following an investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for Urquilla Cordova.

Urquilla Cordova was released from the hospital before being served. Attempts to locate him since then have been unsuccessful.

Urquilla Cordova is described as a 5-foot-11 man, 180 pounds, with black bushy hair and brown eyes. He is wanted for two counts of felony hit and run, one count of maiming while DUI, one count of failure to yield to a pedestrian, one count of reckless driving, and one count of no operator's license.
