A man was found in the road and pronounced dead at the scene.

LAUREL, Md. — Police in Prince George's County are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead in Laurel Sunday night. Investigators say the driver of the striking vehicle did not stay on the scene, and are asking for the public's help to find them.

According to police, the crash happened near the intersection of Laurel Bowie Road and Contee Road in South Laurel, near Deerfield Run Elementary School. Officers responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m. They found a man in the road, unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Police have not yet identified the man killed.

Investigators are still working to figure out what led up to the deadly crash. They have not provided a description of the car involved. Anyone who may have information about the crash is asked to call Prince George's County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.

This is the second recent deadly crash involving a pedestrian in Laurel. Earlier this month, 32-year-old  Jonathan Rocha Diaz of Alexandria, Virginia was hit by a suspected drunk driver in the 7800 block of Contee Road. Laurel Police arrested the driver for DUI at the scene.
