Driver crashes SUV into bank in Arlington, police say

Police say the driver struck a pedestrian and a building. The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

ARLINGTON, Va. — An investigation is underway in Arlington after a car crashed into a Chase bank on 12th Street. Police say a pedestrian was rushed to the hospital after the crash with serious injuries.

At 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of 12th Street S for a report of a traffic complaint. Police say a driver struck a pedestrian before hitting a building and coming to a stop. The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital for help with serious injuries. The driver of the striking car remained on the scene.

Investigators have not identified any contributing factors to the crash. 

The investigation into the crash is active and ongoing.
