CHEVERLY, Md. — Police are investigating after a hit-and-run crash in Cheverly left a pedestrian dead on the night of New Year's Day.
Officers with Prince George's County Police Department responded to the intersection of Landover Road and Neighbor Lane around 8:50 p.m. after receiving a report of a pedestrian collision. Upon arrival, they found a man unresponsive in the roadway.
The man was pronounced dead at the location. No information has been released about the pedestrian, including his name, age, and where he is from.
Through an initial investigation, it has been determined that the driver was traveling northbound on Landover Road when they struck the man. Police say the driver of the striking vehicle did not remain at the scene of the crash.
