Police said second wanted suspect linked to March 2023 shooting has been charged

Last December, a 19-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection to the shooting.

WASHINGTON — A second teenager has been charged in connection to a Southeast, D.C. shooting in March 2023 that left two people dead and another person injured. 

The 17-year-old boy was charged Friday after being extradited from Florida.

Investigators say the deadly shooting occurred on Bruce Place in Southeast on March 7 of last year. Just before 8 p.m., police found two people shot. One of the victims was later identified as 23-year-old Dana Faulker, of Southeast, D.C. He died on Bruce Place. The second victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to be ok.

Shortly after, officers responded to a report of an unconscious person at the intersection of Wheeler Road and Mississippi Avenue, Southeast. Once there, officers located 15-year-old Abdul Fuller, of Southeast, D.C. He had been shot. Fuller was pronounced dead a few hours after being taken to an area hospital. Police say he was injured in the Bruce Place shooting.

In December of 2023, police arrested their first suspect in connection this shooting. The 19-year-old man, of Northeast, DC, was charged with first-degree murder while armed.

The second suspect, a 17-year-old boy, of Northeast, D.C., was arrested on June 11. 

On June 21, the boy was extradited from Jacksonville, Florida back to D.C. He was charged with second-degree murder while armed in the shooting death of Dana Faulkner.

The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone who has more information is asked to call 202-727-9099 or text the department's tip line at 50411. 

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
