1 dead in Prince George's Co. apartment complex shooting

When officers arrived, they found a man shot dead inside of a stairwell.

FORESTVILLE, Md. — Prince George’s County Police are investigating a shooting in Forestville that left one man dead.

On Wednesday, officers received multiple calls for a shooting in the 3700 block of Donnell Drive at 8:45 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the stairwell of an apartment building. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and was later identified by police as 29-year-old Davon Brooks.

Another man was found on the property suffering from gunshot wounds. First responders rendered aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital. Officials say his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, and his name has not been released.

It is unclear if the victims knew each other.

Police weren’t able to confirm if the shooting occurred outside the building or inside, but they did mention a broken window on the exterior of the building as a result of the shooting.

As of now, police have not issued a lookout for the suspect(s). They are reviewing surveillance video from the area to determine a suspect(s) and piece together the events that led up to the shooting.

Anyone who may have information is asked to call Prince George's County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
