Faculty, staff, and students at Potomac High will be watching Baltimore's AFC Championship Game to support one of their very own.

OXON HILL, Md. — Oxon Hill, Maryland is home of the Potomac High Wolverines. It's also home for Baltimore Ravens Cornerback, Ronald Darby.

Darby’s former teacher, Beverley McKinney said, "We'll be watching and following him as always to see what he has done and what he continues to do."

Faculty, staff, and students at Potomac High will be watching Baltimore's AFC Championship Game to support one of their very own.

Potomac High School Staff Member, Sonja Oakcrum said, "I text my colleagues and said, is that Ronald Darby from Potomac high school. They said yes. I said, go Ronald. so definitely, I'm immensely proud."

As a student athlete at Potomac, Darby was an all-state football player and in 2012, he helped lead the school the 3-A State Championship in Track and Field.

Darby's high school football coach, Ronnie Crump says no one in the area is surprised to see Darby go on to achieve even more success in the NFL.

"I knew he was God-gifted, Crump said. “He just had it! God just anointed him with certain abilities."

According to Coach Crump, Darby is so highly regarded at Potomac High that no one is allowed to wear his high school jersey number 25. But for all of Darby's notoriety, Crump says Darby may be one of the humblest players he's ever coached.

"He's a generous guy but he wants to be just Ronald Darby,” Crump said. “I don't think he wants the spotlight. He just wants to be Ronald Darby. Be a regular person and enjoy his family. That's how he's always been."

Coach Crump says Darby visits with the students here at Potomac High regularly during the offseason. Coach says Darby wants to share his blessings with other. So whether The Ravens win or lose this weekend, Coach Crump and Potomac High will always be proud of Ronald Darby.

McKinney said, "We've always rooted for him and knowing he has pride in being from Potomac and that again shows our students, look at what one of your own has done and you can do it too."

"We're definitely his home team here,” Oakcrum said. “Whether The Ravens go on to win The Super Bowl or not. He has our support."
