Man arrested for killing another man in road rage incident

Once there, medical staff worked tirelessly to keep Rodriguez alive. Despite their efforts, Rodriguez succumbed to his injuries and died several hours later.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — The Prince George’s County Police have identified and arrested a suspect wanted for a recent road rage incident that turned fatal in Oxon Hill.

Michael Derrington, 46, was charged with the death of 47-year-old Neris Requeno Rodriguez. 

On November 30, officers responded to the 6000 block of Oxon Hill Road near the Mobil gas station just before 6 p.m. for a shooting. When law enforcement arrived, they found Rodriguez in a car suffering from a gunshot wound. 

First responders performed life-saving measures until he arrived at a local hospital. Once there, medical staff worked to keep Rodriguez alive. Unfortunately, despite all their efforts, Rodriguez succumbed to his injuries, dying several hours later. 

Detectives at the scene conducted a preliminary investigation and it was revealed that Derrington shot Rodriguez during a road rage incident. 

Derrington is facing first and second-degree murder and other related charges. He is now in Department of Corrections custody.
