WASHINGTON — A teen was taken to the hospital after being shot at a Metro station in Northwest D.C. on Friday.
Just after 2:45 p.m., the Metro Transit Police Department responded to the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro Station for a report of a shooting inside the station.
First responders located a teen boy inside the station in the unpaid mezzanine area with a gunshot wound, Metro Police said.
The boy was taken to an area hospital. His injuries aren't believed to be life-threatening.
According to police, the victim was followed into the station by the suspect just before the shooting occurred.
The Georgia Avenue entrance to the station has been closed, but the New Hampshire Avenue entrance remains open. Officers are searching the area for the suspect.
No other details have been released.
