WHEATON-GLENMONT, Md. — Two people are in the hospital after a shooting in Wheaton early Friday. Investigators are still looking for the person responsible.
According to a spokesperson with the Montgomery County Police Department, officers responded to the area of Price Avenue and Fern Street in Wheaton for the report of a shooting just before 1 a.m. Once on scene, they found two men with gunshot wounds. Preliminarily, police believe the two men got in a shouting argument with an unknown third person, the argument escalated, and the unknown person shot them.
Police continue to search for that shooter. Police have not released any description of the person they are looking for.
The two men remain in the hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
