DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. — Prince George’s County Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Friday.
On June 7, at 11:10 p.m. officers responded to Pennsylvania Ave. and Forestville Road in District Heights for a crash. When officers arrived, they found 62-year-old Willie Evans Jr. lying in the road. Officials pronounced him dead at the scene.
In initial reporting, officials say the driver struck Evans, but remained on the scene to help officers in their investigation. It is unclear if Evans was walking in the road, or if speed or alcohol were factors.
This is an ongoing investigation and more details will be revealed as more information becomes available.
