SILVER SPRING, Md. — A Georgia man has gone missing, 23-year-old Andrew Mostyn, was last seen on Easter weekend. His family said, Mostyn was visiting his sick grandmother in Silver Spring, Maryland when he disappeared.
WUSA9 spoke with Mostyn's mother, Joy Dameron, who says, Mostyn left his grandmother's home on Saturday, in a white Ford pickup truck with Georgia license plates.
Mostyn went to the National Mall and told his grandmother they would celebrate Easter Sunday together. He was last seen around 5 p.m. Saturday evening.
Dameron told WUSA9 Mostyn was posting on Snapchat from the National Mall.
“He had Easter plans with her... he told her I’ll get up to go to Easter service, hide eggs with the cousins. They had plans for the next day.” Dameron said.
That same night, family received cryptic messages from Mostyn's cell phone.
“There were just a couple weird texts to my niece. Like, 'come over'. And he wasn’t even there, he was already missing.” Dameron said.
Mostyn hasn’t shown up for work and his dog, Koda, was left at home.
Dameron worries her son is in danger. She says her son would never leave Koda or his family behind.
Joy told WUSA9, Mostyn's last phone location placed him in Pennsylvania, near a heavily wooded area. That was on Sunday, March 31.
In a message to her son, Dameron says, "I hope you're safe and I hope we see you soon.".
Montgomery County police said the investigation is ongoing.
