LANDOVER HILLS, Md. — Three people have been transported to a local hospital after a vehicle crashed into a storefront of a Landover Hills shopping center Friday afternoon.
According to Michael Yourishin, spokesman for Prince George's Co. Fire and EMS, technical rescue crews were called to the 6525 Annapolis Rd. around 4:05 p.m. for a report of a vehicle striking a building after a driver lost control of their vehicle.
When rescue crews arrived on the scene they found three people injured. Two of the victims were inside of the nail salon and one was in a parked car. All three victims were taken to area hospitals for help. Officials say two of the victims suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The third victim was taken for an evaluation.
The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene. The identity of the driver has not been released.
Right now building inspectors are on the scene, working to determine the extent of the damage, Yourishin explained. The accident is being investigated by the Landover Hills Police Department.
Our SKY9 flew over the scene where you could see the entire frame of the doorway shattered and in pieces. The car has since been removed from inside of the the nail salon.
