WALKERSVILLE, Md. — Detectives say they have identified the body of a man found in an abandoned car in Walkersville on Wednesday.
Brice Wendell Boots, 65, of Pikesville, Maryland, has been identified as the victim in this case and his family has been notified of his death.
At 1:32 p.m. on Wednesday, Frederick County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the 8200 block of Crum Road for a report of a suspicious car in a field. The caller told police that the car had its flashers on and had been there since 7 a.m.
At the scene, deputies found a man's body inside the car and immediately established a crime scene at the location. Based on evidence found at the scene, the FSCO is now investigating this death as a homicide.
Deputies closed Crum Road at Liberty Road to Crum Road at Stauffer Road for two days for investigation. The road is open to the public as of 4 p.m. on Thursday.
