Video shows brazen liquor store robbery, shooting in Beltsville

The owner is hoping someone will recognize those involved.

BELTSVILLE, Md. — Police in Prince George's County are investigating an armed robbery at a liquor store in Beltsville. Officers were called to LAX Wine and Spirits in the 11000 block of Baltimore Avenue on Thursday around 1:30 p.m.

Investigators say three people, two men and a woman, robbed the store and fired a shot at the business. Police say an employee was hurt, but his injuries were described as minor.

The owner of the liquor store posted surveillance video and images on social media, begging for help finding those responsible. The video shows clear images of the wanted people, as well as the damage to the business.

The owner of the liquor store said in the video that the three people took liquor and tried to leave without paying. When managers tried to stop them, the man pulled a gun. When the employees back away, one of the women is seen in the video hitting the employee with a bottle of liquor. The window of the store was struck by gunfire.

The three took off in what the owner described as a Chrysler Sebring convertible with Maryland license plate  3FC3154.

"We have to act before they hurt someone else," the owner said in the video.

Police ask anyone with information to contact Prince George's County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
