WASHINGTON — Police are searching for two people they said walked into two D.C. spas – one in Georgetown and one in Dupont Circle – demanded massages and then attempted to rob employees.
One of the incidents happened at Coco Health Spa in Georgetown on 33rd Street. The other in the 1600 block of Connecticut Avenue in Dupont Circle.
Alex, the manager at Coco Health Spa, told WUSA9 the encounter was terrifying.
DC Police said the two suspects entered Coco Health Spa on Monday just before 6 p.m. asking for 30 minute massages. The manager told WUSA9 one of his employees walked the suspects to the massage room. That's when one of them pulled out a gun and placed his hand over the employee, demanding money.
Alex said he was in another room with a customer when he heard the commotion.
He opened the door and saw one of the suspects holding a gun. Alex told WUSA9 he grabbed a plastic bin that was nearby and demanded the suspects to leave.
The following day, on Tuesday around 3 p.m., police said the same two people entered another spa on the 1600 block of Connecticut Avenue in Dupont Circle, asking for a massage before pulling out a gun and demanding money.
Police said the suspects left both businesses empty handed and no one was injured.
