BRANDYWINE, Md. — Police are investigating a house fire in Prince George's County after two people were found dead and a child was taken to an area hospital for help.
According to the Prince George's County Fire and Emergency Medical Services, the fire happened in the 13000 block of Martin Road in Brandywine.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday, crews arrived to find a two-story home engulfed in flames. Two people were found dead inside the house while a child who escaped was taken to an area hospital for evaluation. Firefighters say the child, an elementary-school aged boy, is expected to be OK.
We spoke to several members of the community who told us a mother lived in the home with her two children.
An investigation into the cause of the deadly fire is ongoing. The Medical Examiner's Office is working to identify the two people found inside the home.
