ARLINGTON, Va. — Officers from the Arlington Police Department arrested a juvenile after a fatal vehicle crash early this morning on Saturday.

Authorities reported 18-year-old Brooks Bare, of Arlington, has been charged with: DUI/Involuntary Manslaughter and Breath/Blood Test Refusal.

At around 1:58 a.m., police and fire crews responded to a report of a single vehicle crash at the 2200 block of N. Harrison Street. On the scene, officers analyzed the area, and medics rendered aid to a passenger suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and was later pronounced dead. The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Nicholas Rados, of Arlington.

Police reports indicate that Bare was driving the vehicle while traveling northbound on N. Harrison Street when he struck various parked unoccupied cars on one side of the road. The above resulted in his vehicle overturning.

Preliminary investigations suggest alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. Brooks Bare is now being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility.

The striking car had a total of five occupants. One of the passengers was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries and has been discharged. The other passengers were also evaluated, but, as of now, no information has been provided related to their condition.
