2 men shot in Northwest DC

Metropolitan police say they don't know if the two shootings are related.

WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating two shootings that happened in Northwest D.C.Sunday evening.

The first shooting, which took place just before 7 p.m. in the 5400 block of Georgia Avenue, left one man injured with a gunshot wound. DC Police said that the injury is non-life-threatening.

The man was taken to a local hospital. Police have not yet confirmed any identifying information about the victim.

A second shooting also happened just after 9 p.m. in Mount Vernon Triangle on 4th Street and L Street Northwest.

DC police said that when they got to the scene they found an adult man shot in the leg. That man is also in the hospital and police have also not yet released any identifying information about him. 

Police say they don't know if the two Sunday shootings are related.

Several shootings were also reported across Northeast and Southeast D.C. Friday night leading to multiple injuries and two fatal incidents, according to D.C. Police.

At this time, it is unknown if any of those shootings are related, but police are actively investigating.
