Hagerstown Police say Gage John Coles is being charged as an adult.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection to a deadly shooting in Hagerstown.

According to a Facebook post from the Hagerstown Police Department, officers found two people shot on N. Mulberry Street on October 23. One of the people shot, later identified as 27-year-old John Anthony Leonard IV, was taken to a nearby hospital for help but died from his injuries.

Police say the second person shot, 22-year-old Jaseye Stephens, was hit twice. One of the bullets hit Stephens' femoral artery. A responding officer helped save his life but using a tourniquet. He was then flown to R. Adam Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he remains.
