An armed robbery in DC ended with a man being shot

During his heroic attempt, the second victim was shot. The robbers got back in the car, fleeing the scene with the first victim’s watch and chain.

WASHINGTON — D.C. Police are investigating an armed robbery that ended with a man being shot and sent to the hospital.

On Sunday morning, just after midnight, two men were standing on the corner of H and 13 Street in Northeast when a dark colored vehicle pulled up with at least five people inside.

The victims say the robbers got out of the car and at least two of them had guns pointed at the victims. The suspects demanded their property. One of them complied, giving up his gold chain and watch. The other victim tried to fight off the robbers, this is when things took a turn.

During his heroic attempt, the second victim was shot. The robbers got back in the car, fleeing the scene with the first victim’s watch and chain. The victim that was shot was taken to a nearby hospital shortly after.

At this time we do not know the condition of the man that was shot. Authorities have not released a lookout or possible suspects.

We do know the two victims could possibly be related and are not from the area. With so many events being held in the District this weekend, we are working to learn what brought the victims to town and how they could be connected.
