WASHINGTON — A 50-year-old D.C. man has been sentenced to over a decade in prison for multiple armed robberies committed in 2017.

According to court documents, between Aug. 15 and Oct. 25 in 2017, Lonnell Hart robbed four CVS pharmacies in the District. During each of the robberies, he had a loaded firearm, which he pointed at employees of the convenience stores to demand their cooperation with his demands.

After pointing the gun at them, he ordered the employees to provide him with cash from the pharmacies' safes, as well as the registers. During one of the robberies, he pointed the gun at the belly of a pregnant woman when his demands were not immediately met.

On July 8, 2022, Hart pleaded guilty to four counts of interfering with interstate commerce by robbery, also known as Hobbs Act robbery. Over a year later, on Wednesday, Oct. 26, Hart was sentenced for 132 months, which equals 11 years, in prison for the crimes. U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and Acting Chief Pamela A. Smith, of the Metropolitan Police Department made the announcement.

As part of the sentence, U.S. District Court Judge Tanya S. Chutkan ordered 36 months of supervised release and $14,050 in restitution.
