Woman dies after officers respond to domestic-related call at a home in Prince George's County

At this time, police do not believe this was a random crime.

HILLCREST HEIGHTS, Md. — Police have opened an investigation after they say a woman was murdered in Prince George's County, Maryland on Monday in a targeted attack.

At 11:50 a.m., officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to a home in the 3300 block of Curtis Drive after receiving a domestic-related call. Once there, they found a woman inside suffering from trauma to her body. She was then rushed to an area hospital for treatment where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

The suspect was identified on Tuesday as 25-year-old Eric Anthony King of no fixed address. King is charged with fatally stabbing 33-year-old Diamond Abney of Suitland.

After police say King stabbed the victim, he fled the scene. He was located and taken into custody without incident at a motel in Dumfries early Tuesday morning.

King is charged with first and second-degree murder and related charges. He remains in custody in Prince William County pending extradition to Prince George’s County.

King and Abney were previously in a relationship.
